How super top up works?

Case - I: Base Policy 5 Lacs and Super Top 15 Lacs

For example, Mr. Gandhi gets hospitalized for some medical emergency costing him Rs. 12 lakhs. This amount is more than the total sum insured under his base plan of Rs. 5 lakh. In this case, he can claim only Rs. 5 lakh under his base policy, and claim remaining Rs. 7 lakh will have to be borne by him. With a Super Top Up plan, he can claim additional medical expenditure of Rs. 7 lakh as well.

Case - II: Base Policy 5 Lacs and Super Top 12 Lacs

Mr. Nadeem claims Rs. 4 lakhs from his total sum assured of Rs. 5 lakhs to meet the expenses incurred for a planned hospitalization. Next month, he is hospitalized again. This time, his total bill is Rs. 3 lakh, exceeding his remaining sum assured of Rs. 1 lakh by Rs. 2 lakh. This amount will be paid by the Super Top Up plan and he can claim Rs. 2 Lakhs.

Case - III: Base Policy 3 Lacs and Super Top up 10 Lacs

Let us take another example, Mr Abhijeet got hospitalized and his total claim was INR 1 Lacs. Couple of Months later he was diagnosed with Cancer and his total medical bill was INR 3 Lacs and 4 Lacs. Out of claim of INR 3 Lacs, 1 Lacs would be paid by Base Policy and Remaining 2 Lakh by Super Top Up Policy. Second Claim of INR 4 Lakh would be paid by Super Top up Policy with total sum insured 10 lakh out of which 8 lakh was remaining.
